Junior High Weekly Update: Sept 11th-15th

Hello Everyone!

I hope you all enjoyed the sunny weekend! Last week students had a blast performing their very first science lab where they learned how to test if yeast is alive or dead. The garden students were also able to harvest a pumpkin for the classroom and some tasty cherry tomatoes.
In English this week students will be reading through Kurt Vonnegut’s short story “Harrison Bergeron” which explores a society where everyone is “equal”. Students will continue to study types of nouns in Grammar and will start lesson 2 in their Vocab books. In Life Science students will start Chapter 3 in which they will explore the properties of light and color.

1) Back to School Night – Thursday, Sept 14th 6pm-7pm
This Thursday evening we will have our Back to School Night! I hope all of you can make it so you can visit Mrs. Kasperson and myself in the junior high classroom to discuss classroom procedures, upcoming field trips, the Washington D.C. trip and address any questions or concerns you may have. We will have a table for sign-ups for various things we may need help with and hand out school t-shirt and sweat-shirt orders. We have a flower bulb fundraiser coming up soon.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns!
